#1: Success – How to Truly Be Happy
There’s this myth that you will find happiness once you’re successful. I have heard many people saying, ‘If I lose ten pounds, I’ll be happy’ or ‘I’ll be happy with my next job’ or ‘I will be happy when I buy a house’ and the list goes on.
Similarly, I thought that I would be happy when I made money, but the simple truth is that I would be successful and make money if I was happy in the first place.
I read about this formula through the book The Happiness Advantage: The Seven Principles of Positive Psychology That Fuel Success and Performance at Work and I was sold on the idea.
It’s a very simple principle that states that you gain success only when you’re happy and not the other way around.
What’s more, even scientific studies suggest that our brains are fuelled by energetic activities that push us to do more.
Thus, if you love your job and are happy, you are more likely to succeed. The way you make yourself happy depends completely on you and is your choice.
