#1: Humor – A Powerful Ingredient for Successful Relationships
‘I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.’ This quote by Audrey Hepburn is an exact summation of what most of us want, in a relationship. Don’t we all crave for partners who can make us smile, no matter how bad a situation is?
Humor is very important for all us and it plays a major role in our relationships. Right from the initial date to the point where you get married, humor is as important as physical intimacy. Several people tend to choose their partners, depending on how humorous they are.
Why? Because we all need someone to brighten up the atmosphere around us, no matter how gloomy it seems.
Humor also works as an effective tool whenever you’re going out on a first date. Granted, some of us get nervous when we meet someone we can potentially see a future with, but humor can break the ice and induce conversations that overcome any embarrassment.
Once the conversation becomes effortless, couples grow close to each other. It’s not only true for couples who have just begun dating, but it also works like a charm for couples who have been with each other for years.
Often, as time passes, relationships could get boring because after all we are just human.
However, if you fix your relationship issues by injecting humor, you will realize that it can keep your marriage or relationship healthy and fresh. Sometimes, petty relationship issues can build your aggravation towards your partner and this can breed trouble.
But, if you handle the situation with some humor and have the ability of laughing it off with your partner, you really do not have anything to worry out. Simply put, you can either whine and fight with your spouse or solve problems with humor.
This doesn’t mean that you can joke around and insult your partner, but it simply means that you could save yourself from some headache if you take things lightly.
