#7: Emphasize Your Sentences To Show Your Confidence
This is not only about how to speak with confidence, but it is also about talking with authority. For example, let us assume that you want to say ‘Come here now’ to your friend, child or anyone you know.
If you speak the sentence out loud without a pause or an emphasis, it does not display a lot of authority. However, if you say ‘Come here, now’ it makes a world of a difference.
Sounds nuts, doesn’t it? But, you have to try it to believe it! Regardless of whether you’re addressing people in a conference or talking to someone on the phone, the way you emphasize your sentences plays a bigger role than you think.
However, don’t confuse the issue of authority and emphasis with anger, which means that you can’t club the two.
For example, if you’re going to talk to your friend with a lot of authority, he/she might think that you’re being too bossy, so remember that you can display authority and emphasize your sentences in certain situations that call for it.
