Bethany Hamilton – ‘Whatever your situation might be, set your mind to whatever you want to do and put a good attitude in it, and I believe that you can succeed. You are not going to get anywhere just sitting on your butt and moping around.’
Apply yourself to something – something you love, and work hard at it. Can we do without our four limbs? Is it possible? Imagine you did not have your limbs. Would your life be the same?
It is hard for us to imagine life without our limbs, isn’t it? Whether it’s all four limbs or one, life would just not be the same! But some achieve great heights despite their deformities. This is something you cannot deny.
How gifted are we? Think of all the things we are able to do with our limbs and senses. And as for those with deformities, they too accomplish a great deal or just the same and most importantly they do not complain or whimper unlike us. Whatever form of deformity we encounter in life, it is imperative to remember to NOT let ANYTHING steal away your dream.
Ignite your passion by giving it your best shot; work, work and WORK HARD for it. There is no short cut to success.
Life is full of calamities, grievances and abrasions, but that can’t stop you from achieving your goals. If a calamity befalls you, brooding over it will only destroy the present moment of your life. The past is gone, so let it go. There’s no use in crying over spilt milk, is there?
Do not let tragedies stagnate your life. You need to move on. Find reasons to be happy. Do not concentrate on what you have lost, instead think of all that you have. Smile, hold your head high, be strong and hunt for reasons that will make you happy or do whatever your heart desires.
Like every other girl, Bethany Hamilton too had a dream – a passion to conquer the waters. Born into a family of surfers on February 8, 1990, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, Bethany Hamilton was the youngest of three siblings.
Bethany Hamilton began surfing at an early age and eagerly anticipated surfing contests. She had a knack for surfing and had the burning desire to be a great surfer someday. With that mentality, Bethany entered her first surfing contestant the age of eight.
